   Running OATM Migration Utility Fails With "sh: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected "


 SYMPTOMS

When attempting to run OATM migration utility to Generate Migration Commands options, by using the below steps, the
following error occurs.
1. Run fndtsmig.pl
2. Select option 3. "Generate Migration Commands" then option 2. "Generate Migration Commands For All Schemas"

ERROR

sh: syntax error at line 1: `(' unexpected

CAUSE :

FND_TS_SIZING table has not been populated correctly in step "Calculate total space required by each new table space" Error is cause by passing invalid parameter pass to fndgmcmd.sql run during the fndtsmig.pl script . These parameters are calculated during the "Migration Sizing Reports" options. Usually this error occurs if any of the "Migration Sizing Reports" options were failed or terminated .

SOLUTION

To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:

1. In OATM menu run option
"Calculate total space required by each new tablespace to migrate each Oracle Application product schema (relevant for aschemabyschema
migration)" under Migration Sizing Reports
2. Run "Generate Migration Commands For All Schemas"
3. Retest the issue.
